Absolute Collagen review: 'The hair duo that has finally given my flat, fine hair volume'
After two months of using this range, I'm never going back
As Ecommerce Editor at Women's Health, I get to test out products for a living. This means I've tried out fitness trackers, mattresses, pillows, and countless other products that claim to be the next best thing. This has made me very picky with what I recommend.
For something to impress me, it has to tick a lot of boxes. Does it live up to its claims? Is it something I'd wax lyrical about to my friends and family? Is it good value for money? Is it effective?
After spending a few weeks trying out Absolute Collagen's Collagen Boosting Hair Range, I can say with certainty these are the kinds of crowd-pleasing products that have been formulated to impress.
Absolute Collagen's shampoo and conditioner duo is a dream for anyone who finds their hair needs a boost of body and a dose of shine, and I've put together a full review of the range for anyone wondering whether the products are what they're looking for.

I've used the duo almost every time I washed my hair for the past two months. As someone with fine hair who exercises a few times a week, my hair gets greasy quickly so I wash my hair upwards of four times a week.
Who I am: I'm a woman in my late twenties who has been fighting an uphill battle against my fine, limp hair for as long as I can remember. Although it's fine, there's a lot of it so it doesn't appear thin. If I use the wrong shampoo and conditioner, however, it's easily weighed down. It gets greasy within a couple of days, and if I'm not diligent, the ends dry quickly.
When I've dabbled with thickening hair ranges in the past, I've found the formulas can leave my hair feeling heavy, textured and lacking in shine. This duo from Absolute Collagen leaves my strands looking thick, healthy and lustrous, and in the two months I've been using it I've noticed my hair feels stronger than it has in ages.
The Absolute Collagen Thickening Shampoo uses a collagen complex formula to wrap the hair cuticle in a nourishing layer, which adds shine and collagen amino acids penetrate the thickest layer of the hair shaft to add volume.
Along with collagen, the shampoo's ingredients list also includes wheat and plant proteins to add body and volume while strengthening the hair.
I tend to double wash my hair, so after I've done that I'll go in with the Absolute Collagen Thickening Conditioner. As I've already mentioned, my hair is very fine. This means if a conditioner is too heavy it'll weigh down my hair, and if it's too light it won't nourish the ends properly.
I've found this conditioner can deeply hydrate without making my hair feel heavy, adding strength to each hair strand through the brand's famous collagen complex. The formula is also packed with enriching oils that leave my hair looking smooth and shiny, even when I've left it to air dry.
For the past few months I've also been supplementing with Absolute Collagen's Marine Collagen Supplement, so that's probably also adding to how shiny, healthy, and long my hair is looking at the moment.
Honestly, you can't go wrong with this shampoo and conditioner set if you've also got hair on the thinner side.
It's lightweight enough to not weigh down fine hair, but nourishing enough to leave it hydrated, soft and shiny. A little goes a long way, so the bottles last for quite a while, and you don't need to use a tonne of conditioner to make your hair feel soft.
